A misty start and good friends

We spent the night on a mooring at Youghal. It was good crack rowing in. Myself, Brendan and Tobin were relieved to get onshore though. The current was running very strong from the river blackwater while Brendan was rowing us to shore, but we were going backwards! I couldn't stop laughing.

This morning we tied up against the pier in Youghal to get water onboard. Michael and Patrick from Clonakilty helped us tie up, two veteran sailors whose local knowledge came in handy.

No early start today, we had to wait for the fog to clear before heading off. The people were very friendly at Youghal. Thanks Finbar Buckley for sorting out the engine stopper and Adrian for guiding us out of the bay in the thick fog.

Brendan is still sailing with me and we are getting on fine. Tobin has taken to him well. We are both joiners and spend most evenings cleaning down the boat and preparing for the early start, passage planning, listening to Van the man, and arguing who's the better joiner.
