Youghal Harbour. This remarkable floating sculpture greets all mariners at the entrance to the harbour. A tribute to the legendary film Mobey Dick made here with Gregory Peck. |
Arrived Youghal at 4.15pm. We put the banners out, got the dinghy pumped up and went ashore for dinner. Tobin was glad to get ashore. We asked a local fisherman to bring him in first while we got the sails stowed.T.J. O'Brien traveled here from Clonmel to meet me and brought some goodies for Tobin helped me get to Tescos
for a king size douvet and three pillows,thanks to this idea from TJ I could sleep a lot better, you have been through it all TJ with cancer taking your loved one I admire your determination in life TJ you have made a new start and I wish you well in your new found sailing ambition. Its a pity we had no photos taken.
I had no idea Mopey dick the whale movie with Gregory Peck was shot here. Met Finbar Buckley what a gem thanks for sorting out the throttle cable.
