Stoney B on the east coast

Tobin likes watering the wheels in Howth
It was a beautiful sail down from Howth to Wicklow. We checked the Marine Traffic AIS for fast ferries going in and out of Dublin port and made our way across the bay. It was a beautiful sail, the weather was stunning and Brendan, Tobin and I basked in the sun and keep a careful eye for incoming and outgoing shipping.

At Wicklow harbour
We met a wonderful man, Derek Ramsbottom from Santry, Dublin, who helped us get two new batteries for Stoney B. Few men have I met so genuine, one of life's real gems, thank you Derek. Maybe our paths will cross again some day.

We left Wicklow harbour today at about 4:15pm with a light southeasterly wind cooling the air just enough to make the sunshine even more glorious.

Approaching Arklow, it was a difficult steam upstream with the depth alarm going off and dredging boats all at work. We took it slowly, rather than wait a while longer for the tide, the wind was picking up, Tobin was wanting ashore and I was getting tired so we made our way into Arklow marina.

Crew for this leg is Brendan Donaghy. Brendan is a pleasure to sail with. Never complaining, just getting on with it. A rough and ready attitude helps on this wee Stoney B. There's no serviettes nor fish knives, just toilet roll and spoons.
